Khmer ethnic village – Villages of Ethnics III- Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism

Pagoda area: about 0,8 hectare, near pond, including: overall space, three-door temple gate, sanctum, angle tower, crematory, garden tower, house for Ghe Ngo, houseboat, sala, church , flag tower and lotus pond.
Village area: Salathen (village pagoda) and two houses.
Khmer’s houses include two traditional houses and one small pagoda (Salathen). Khmer’s houses are designed based on the current housing architecture of Khmerpeople in Soc Trang. Salathen (village pagoda): the floor area is 102,96m2.
►House (type1):
The house is placed in area of 770,1m2, and surrounded by short wooden fence and thorn trees. There is a main gate in front of the house toward the village road in the whole campus. The campus includes three main works that are asymmetrically arranged. The largest house is used to stay, which is arranged in the middle of the campus. Natural altar with the height of 1,55m is in the open and placed near the gate and in front of the house. Although the altar is put in small space, it is the solemn place. The end corner of the campus is barn.
The stilt house with the area of 93,2m2, has three main spaces for guests, children’s bedroom, kitchen and way to stilt house.

The house includes parthouses, in which the rear parthouse is the main entrance. There is a close contact between parthouses through the used spaces. The parthouse floor is about 1,8m and has wooden banister. All housing structures are made by piles from the floor to wall. The house has two palm roofs, including two main doors to the front parthouse and four sub doors to the room. The door, window and wall are made by wood bounded together a unified whole.
- The barn with the area: 8m2.
►House (type 2):
The house is placed in area of 655,5m2, and surrounded by short wooden fence and thorn trees. There is a main gate in front of the house toward the village road in the whole campus. The campus includes three main works that are asymmetrically arranged. The largest house is used to stay, which is arranged in the middle of the campus. The natural altar is placed near the gate and in front of the house.
House: area of 107, 24m2, including three adjacent small houses. The largest one is to receive guests and slept by old people. The next house is children’s bedroom and family’s kitchen. The smallest one is the storage. The house has two main ways, one way to a guest room and another to kitchen. There is no close contact between spaces. The main palm roof is the combination of three small roofs. The wall surrounding the house is made by bamboo plates that are covered by palm in the outside face. The wall inside of the house is only made by bamboo plates.
The barn with the area: 9,4m2.
