Opening Ceremony of the Children’s Festival 2015 at the “Common house”

(LVH) – In the morning of May 30th, 2015, the opening ceremony of Children’s New Year 2015 was held at the Vietnam National Villages for Ethnic Cultures and Tourism. This is a practical and meaningful activity to create a useful entertainment atmosphere for teenagers and children on the occasion of the International Children’s Day (June 1st).

The Opening Ceremony were attended by Mr. Nguyen Huu Gioi, Chairman of the Trade Union of the Ministry of Culture and Sports and Tourism; Mr. Lam Van Khang, Mr. Nguyen Huu Thinh, Deputy Head of the Management Board of the Vietnam National Villages for Ethnic Cultures and Tourism; Painter Doan Thi Thu Huong, Deputy Director of Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Musician Ho Huu Thoi, Member of the Standing Committee and the Chief of Office of the Cultural Heritage Association of Vietnam; the delegates of the co-organized units, media agencies, visitors and teenagers and children from the primary schools and secondary schools in Ha Noi.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Lam Van Khang emphasized the significance of organizing the Children’s Festival 2015: “With the desire to bring about a playful Children’s Festival, the Management Board of the Vietnam National Villages for Ethnic Cultures and Tourism and agencies co-organized practical and meaningful activities. Through these activities, the children have a better understanding of the traditional culture of Vietnamese ethnic groups, are promoted dreams through kites and express their love for country innocently through drawings and are immersed in the folk songs, traditional dances and try their strength and cleverness through traditional games in the cultural space of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups.”
Mr. Lam Van Khang believed that: “Tourists and the children will have a fun and impressive summer holiday and have a chance to experience the Children’s Festival 2015 at the Vietnam National Villages for Ethnic Cultures and Tourism; thereby, they will have better understanding of the traditional ethnic culture to be proud of and add to their basic knowledge on the path of learning, striving and building their career”.

After the Opening Ceremony, the teenagers experienced the traditional kite-making techniques instructed by traditional kite-making artisans and members of Thanh Oai Flute and Kite club (Hanoi). Besides, they also participated in painting with the theme of “Children with the love for country” under the guidance of the painters of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition. At the same time, they were directly immersed in the traditional games such as walking on stilts, going over high bridges, swinging, etc.
