Ky Yen ceremony of Chinese

(LVH) – In the morning of February 19th, 2013, in the framework of the festival “Spring Colors in every Part of Fatherland” at Culture – Tourism Village of Vietnamese ethnic minorities, excerpt of Ky Yen ceremony which demand peace of ethnic group Chinese (Bac Giang) was represented.

Ky Yen ceremony is usually held on accasion of New Year to pray for good weather, good and lush crops, all people were at peace, everything is the best.

Preparing the sacrifices for the ceremony includes the Picture of Jade Emperor (gods), cymbals, horns, knives, chicken, pork…There are at least two people and a maximum of 10 people. The leader wearing Buddha hat, draped in was the teacher leading his students to report their spirits. The ceremony started with three incense sticks and an act of horn. The teacher led the group around eight-sign figure, walking and dancing, singing in cymbals, reported the results of a year of ethnic people, as well as desiring for everything is flourishing and best in a new year.
