 The Inauguration ceremony of Khmer temple complex in Vietnam National Village of Ethnic Culture and Tourism

(LVH) - In the morning of 23rd November 2013, the Inauguration ceremony of Khmer temple complex took place at the Vietnam National Village of Ethnic Culture and Tourism (Dong Mo, Son Tay, Hanoi) with the contents of the Inauguration ceremony of Khmer temple complex, inauguration ceremony rite, the performance of folk dances of Khmer people. The venerable Tran Van Luong (the religious name Sovannapanno) was appointed as the chairman.

The Inauguration ceremony was attended by Mr. Son Minh Thang, the member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister, and Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities; Pham Dung, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Home Affairs, the Head of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs; Mr. Ho Anh Tuan, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Do Van Tru, Standing Deputy Chairman cum General Secretary of the Vietnam Association of Cultural Heritages; Venerable Duong Nhon, Vice Chairman of Demonstration Council, Deputy Chairman of the Central Management Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association, Venerable Thich Thien Nhon, Standing Vice Chairman cum General Secretary of the Central Management Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association, Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Standing Vice Chairman of Central Management Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association etc; the representatives of Buddhism and Buddhists from 11 provinces and cities such as: Soc Trang, An Giang, Tra Vinh etc; the representatives of Steering Board from Southwest, Northwest, Central Highlands and the leadership representatives from 12 provinces and cities having ethnic communities engaged in the activities at "Village"; ambassadors, international organizations of Buddhism countries such as Laos, Cambodia etc and the majority of journalists, media and visitors.

 

The view of Inauguration ceremony

Giving speech at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Dung, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Home Affairs, the Head of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs has expressed the happiness to share the joy and celebrate the inauguration ceremony of Khmer temple complex in Vietnam National Village of Ethnic Culture and Tourism.

He stressed that this project, with the solemn inauguration ceremony today and the presence of distinguished guests and representatives of all religions and people of all ethnic groups, did not only express the policy of great national solidarity and engagement between life and moral principles but also showed the State policy of respecting the freedom of religious beliefs etc and hoped that this joint happiness would bring back the traditional, determination and motivation of Southern Khmer people to unify with the Buddhist people as well as people of other religious belief in order to build a more prosperous Vietnam”...

 

Venerable Thich Thien Nhon, Standing Vice Chairman cum General Secretary of Central Management Board of Vietnam Buddhist Association, gave speech

The representative of the Vietnam Buddhist Association, Venerable Thich Thien Nhon, Standing Vice Chairman cum General Secretary of Central Management Board of Vietnam Buddhist Association said that the construction of the Khleang temple at the Village expressed the concern of the Party and State, ministries in the preservation and promotion of unique cultural and spiritual values of Buddhism at the Southern Khmer temple complex at the heart of Hanoi capital so that the Khmer Buddhists in particular and Southern Buddhists in general who may be foreigners or Vietnamese have the opportunity to contemplate worship at the temple”...

 

Venerable Tran Van Luong ( the religious name Sovannapanno) was appointed as the chairman of Vietnam National Village of Ethnic Culture and Tourism

With the consents of Masters of Khmer Nam Tong Buddism, Venerable Tran Van Luong (the religious name Sovannapanno) was appointed as the chairman of Khmer temple at Vietnam National Village of Ethnic Culture and Tourism.

 

Monks were implementing the rituals in the space of Khmer main temple, at Vietnam National Village of Ethnic Culture and Tourism

Then, the monks executed the Inauguration ceremony of Khmer temple complex at Vietnam National Village of Ethnic Culture and Tourism. The order of rite took place according to the contents: Inviting stone pillars into the main hall, the rite of fixing the position of Buddha ceremony, inauguration rite and offering rice to the monk - finishing the rite.
The performance of Di ke, Du ke song of Khmer people and exchange acts of ethnic communities to celebrate the Khmer temple which was inaugurated in the festival had occurred in excitement in the space of temple complex and brought a cheerful atmosphere throughout the Common house of ethnic groups.
